Obbi Win at Awards Night

OBBI Solutions has won the prestigious Enterprise Software category award, beating off stiff competition from across Northern Ireland at the INVENT AWARDS 2019 held recently at the ICC Waterfront Hall in front of 800 leading business people.
OBBI Solutions is a revolutionary cloud-based software solution which digitally optimises and integrates business-critical processes from HR, Operations, Health & Safety and Facility Management on its unique platform. It can be accessed on any internet-enabled device including phones, tablets and PC’s, anywhere, at any time and is user-friendly, regardless of technical capability. It gives business owners, managers and staff a real-time, 360-degree view of their operations, compliance and teams and ultimately delivers Peace of Mind.
The software platform is already proving hugely popular with a raft of businesses in multiple sectors where, ironically, the majority of team members are not predominantly in front of computers including Manufacturing, Retail, Hospitality, Construction and Health. It has been shown to drive productivity and create safer, more engaged and happier teams. The solution, which was commercially launched earlier in the year, has had a vast array of external stakeholders and advisors involved throughout its development from Legal, Insurance, HR, Safety, Compliance as well as multiple business and trade body representatives to deliver the product that exists today.
OBBI was created by Gareth Macklin, Director at the award-winning Macklin Group who employs over 650 people in Care Homes, Hotels and Construction. This came about after he failed to find an existing solution anywhere in the world that would allow him to integrate the company’s business processes and streamline procedures effectively.
Gareth said: “We are delighted to have OBBI recognised by the INVENT AWARD for Enterprise Software Company of the Year. It comes at a great time for us with OBBI now being used by increasing numbers of businesses that need to increase productivity, save money and resources and help relieve the stress and pressures of running a business.”
The Invent competition offers an opportunity for innovators of Northern Ireland to be recognised as the next ‘big thing’ – this year it attracted more than 100 entries across six categories. The 9-month judging process challenged innovators and entrepreneurs to showcase their products to bring forward the best tech ideas Northern Ireland has to offer. Winners shared a prize fund of over £33,000 to help them further develop their innovative inventions.
Invent sponsor, Gavin Kennedy, Bank of Ireland UK’s Head of Business Banking NI said: “The Invent competition continues to be an inspiration for all ambitious entrepreneurs in Northern Ireland. It is a unique program, providing a platform for discovery, practical supports and membership to a positive, innovative, entrepreneurial community that focuses on supporting outstanding talent in Northern Ireland.”
OBBI Solutions business platform promises to revolutionise how companies can operate. Its intuitive, user-friendly interface organises everything from training, compliance, risk assessments and audits to quality control and productivity, while keeping wellbeing and engagement of staff at the centre of the system.
“We believe our product has been so successful because we designed and developed it with the insight of both business owners, managers and staff; therefore, we know exactly what solutions companies need,” Gareth said.
“With more challenges than ever before for business people of today, OBBI’s platform can truly make a difference and our clients are experiencing amazing results so far including headline reduction figures of up to 75% in admin time, 60% in onboarding time and 22% in staff turnover. Additionally, we’re increasing compliance visibility to 100% and ultimately saving lots of paper in the process!”
“With more and more compliance, checks and legislative red tape combined with the significant desire to retain and develop the best people, I knew there had to be a better solution, and since nobody else had come up with it, I decided to invent it.”
“The OBBI system handles all training, manages compliance and stores all data in one easy-to-access, secure place. This is a massive benefit in terms of health and safety with OBBI shown to reduce accidents occurring as staff training and compliance checks are kept well up to date. However should the worst happen, as the system has been built with the guidance of leading legal, safety and insurance advisors, the built-in accident management platform provides all the necessary details to help manage the entire incident from end to end.
