We are thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the 2023 Obbi Golf / Golf Genius Software Irish Golf Series. In its second annual iteration, this event brought together General Managers and Club Officials for a thrilling blend of competitive golf and networking, all set against the backdrop of picturesque golf courses.
Last year’s champion, Paddy Dean CCM, set the bar high, and this year’s Series, dubbed ‘The Race to Carton House, A Fairmont Managed Hotel,’ promised even more excitement. The action kicked off at The Royal Dublin Golf Club, with daily updates and scores posted on LinkedIn.
The competition was fierce, with standout performances, including Gay Nolan leading the way after the first six holes of qualifying. The rivalry was palpable, and the atmosphere electric. Special thanks go to GM Jeff Fallon for hosting this event, and ensuring top-notch course conditions and hospitality for all attendees.
As the competition progressed, four exceptional winners emerged, securing their spots on the finals day at Carton House, in October. Pat Barrett, CCM, William Kirby, Gay Nolan, and Michael McCormack CMDip, demonstrated their golfing prowess and earned their place among the elite.
Round 2 unfolded at Malone Golf Club, boasting impeccable weather and a beautiful course, providing the backdrop for another captivating day of golf. Live updates kept everyone engaged as the next 12 competitors battled for their shot at finals day.
Day 2’s winners—Jim Cullen, Justyn Galloway, Robert Murphy, and the defending champion, Paddy Dean CCM—secured their spots at Carton House, along with the coveted trophy.
Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort hosted Day 3, offering a world-class golfing experience. With record-breaking scores and fierce competition, Niall Keyes CM Dip., John Kelly, Pat St. Ledger, and Alan Dunning emerged victorious. The race for the finals day at Carton House next month heated up, promising an exciting showdown.
After five weeks and four prestigious venues, the grand finale unfolded at Carton House. The 12 finalists gave it their all, but it was General Manager of Leopardstown Golf Centre, Alan Dunning, who secured the coveted title with a stellar performance.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the host venues, especially Marcus Doyle and his team at Druids Glen, for their impeccable hospitality. Our gratitude also goes to Alastair Kerr and Tom Bentley from Golf Genius Software for their invaluable support in making this event a resounding success.
As we look ahead, we can’t wait for what 2024 has in store. The Obbi Golf / Golf Genius Invitational Irish Series is poised to reach new heights, delivering thrilling golf and memorable experiences for all involved.
